July 2014

DWM hosts the return of the Charles W. Morgan to New Bedford MA.

DWM has been there from the begining of the restoration to her launching. She will be making an historic voyage around the north east the summer of 2014. DWM will have a front row seat for her berth when she visits New Bedford June-July 2014. We are looking for volunteers to staff the DWM booth during her stay.

The Charles W. Morgan, the last wooden whaling ship in the world, was hauled out, refurbished over the last couple years, and and relaunched in July . The Mystic Seaport (her current home) is planning a busy 2014 summer schedule for this magnificent ship. She will be sailed from Mystic to Newport, on to Martha's Vineyard and then to New Bedford, which was her primary home port during her whaling days. The Morgan will arrive in New Bedford on June 27, 2014, and remain there until July 7th. The city expects 5000 to 6000 visitors per day during that period. Visit the Mystic Seaport site for more details.
